Group Class Descriptions

PILATES EQUIPMENT BASICS: This class is for total beginners. It will introduce you to the pilates technique and the Pilates reformer. No prior experience in Pilates mat fix photoshoot 609 042 copywork is necessary. This class or a private lesson is required prior to entering other reformer classes. This class is limited to 4 students.  Reservation required (make reservation now). Call or email to schedule a time.  

BEG/INT/ADV PILATES EQUIPMENT: Use the Pilates Reformer, Tower, Jumpboard, and chair to flow through a sequence of strengthening and lengthening exercises that use the springs, pulleys, and straps of the equipment to assist or resist your movement. These classes are a great way to build on concepts learned in mat classes, and to advance equipment-based workouts.  If you have never used the Pilates equipment, you will need to either attend the Equipment Basics class or 1 private lesson prior to trying this class. If you have experienced Reformer work at another studio, you may attend this class. Class content is planned according to the requests/needs of the students who sign up in advance.  This class is limited to 4 students. Reservations recommended (make reservation now). Mondays 8:30am 9:45am, Tuesdays 9am & 10:15am, Wednesdays 6:15pm, Thursdays 10:15am 11:30am, Fridays 8:30am, 9:45am.

LOW BACK RESTORATION:  If you have chronic low back pain, this is the class for you. The small group setting is ideal for addressing low back pain without the ongoing need for private lessons. The progressive assistance and resistance of the Pilates apparatus is key to developing the strength and stability to overcome pain. The class is designed to address a wide range of back pathology.  Because there are many different caus25es of low back pain, it is highly recommended that you take the private lesson rather than the basics class prior to this class, especially if you have acute pain. This will ensure that your needs will be properly met in the group setting. This class is limited to 4 students.  Reservations recommended (make reservation now).  This class is currently on hold, but a low back focus can be a part of any class at The Fix.

PILATES MAT/TOWER: This class takes place on the Pilates Tower. We will flow through a sequence of exercises that use the springs, pulleys, and straps of the machines to assist or resist your movement. These classes are a great way to build on concepts learned in mat classes, and to advance equipment-based workouts.  If you have never used the Pilates Tower, you will need to either attend the Reformer Basics class or 1 private lesson prior to trying this class. If you have experienced Reformer/Tower work at another studio, you images-16may attend this class. This class is limited to 4 students.  Reservations recommended (make reservation now).  Wednesdays 6:15pm, Thursdays 10:15am 11:30am 12:15pm.

PILATES EQUIPMENT – STRETCH:    Use the Pilates reformer to flow through a sequence of strengthening and lengthening exercises the use the springs, pulleys, and straps of the machines to assist or resist your movement.  This class emphasizes static and dynamics stretching.  This class is limited to 4 students. Reservations recommended (make reservation now).  This class is currently on hold, but focus on stretching can be a part of any class at The Fix.

PILATES JUMPBOARD:   Add cardio to your Pilates workout! Enjoy all the usual flexibility, strength, and coordination benefits of Pilates with increased core and leg strength (and fun!). You will get airbound without stressing your joints, and increase your Unknown-1heart rate. This class offers a challenging workout while being safe and helpful for people with osteoporosis, spine and lower limb injures, and weight loss goals.  If you have never used the Pilates Reformer, you will need to either attend the Reformer Basics class or 1 private lesson prior to trying this class. If you have experienced Reformer  work at another studio, you may attend this class.  This class is limited to 4 students. Reservations recommended (make reservation now).  Fridays 8:30am, 9:45am.

MIXED EQUIPMENT (all levels & 65+): Use Pilates equipment to flow through a sequence of strengthening and lengthening exercises that use the springs, pulleys, and straps of the machines to assist or resist your movement. Classes emphasize balance, posture, and functional movement, and will teach you how to apply the Pilates concepts to daily living and recreational activities. Equipment usage depends on who is in class. (make reservation now). Mondays 11am, Fridays 8:30am 9:45am.

PILATES MAT:  Classes are mixed level and combine the core strength, flexibility, and toning of Pilates with personalized movement analysis. You will review the basic Pilates images-12concepts and apply them to a variety of beginner, intermediate, and advanced mat exercises. While there will be a challenge for every student in class, we will also address any restorative needs that may be holding you back in class (and outside of class). Every 4 weeks the focus of the class changes based on you and your classmates’ needs to ensure that a variety of needs are met. Mats and props are provided.   Currently, mat work is also incorporated into the tower classes. Wednesdays 6:15pm, Thursdays 10:15am 11:30am, Saturdays 11am.

PILATES MAT – STRETCH:  Apply the Pilates fundamentals to static and dynamic stretching, and use your new mobility to help you find proper form during the beginner/intermediate Pilates mat exercises.  If you are new to Pilates or expimages-9erience tight muscles and stiff joints, you will benefit from this class.  This class is currently on hold, but stretching can be a part of any class at The Fix.

INTERMEDIATE PILATES MAT – FIRE IN THE CORE:  Need to burn off some of that mid section goo?  Pilates is always core focused, we just take it to the next level by going deeper into your abs, working all layers and angles, and adding props.  On hold.   

KETTLEBELL:  Kettlebell workouts have cardiovascular, resistance, and weight control benefits. Each lifts’ multiplanar movements parallel the activities of daily living, and the Unknown-2emphasis on core strength makes it a safe progression to your Pilates and yoga classes. Classes begin with a dynamic warm up, followed by skills practice, and power endurance training. If you are new to kettlebell, please come 15 minutes early to learn safety and basic holds.  Currently, kettlebell is also part of mixed equipment classes. Wednesdays 5pm, 6:15pm,  Fridays 8:30am 9:45am.

FIX IT WORKSHOPS:   Krisen or a guest instructor will host a specialty workshop that will address areas of interest that aren’t covered by The Fix’s regularly scheduled classes.
